Marc Chagall “Snaring Birds” 1977



Marc Chagall (1887-1985), a French-Russian artist, illustrated the 2nd century AD book, Daphnis and Chloe, by Greek novelist Longus. This is a lithograph in seven colors called Snaring Birds. It is a vibrant painting published by New York publisher George Braziller. It is framed, matted and covered in plexiglass. The image measures 12.5 x 19.825.
