Maurice de Vlaminck “Sailing Boats on the Seine” 1958



Maurice de Vlaminck (1876-1958) was a French painter. Along with André Derain and Henri Matisse he is considered one of the principal figures in the Fauve (wild and uninhibited) movement, a group of modern artists who from 1904 to 1908 were united in their use of intense colour. This is signed lithograph, framed, matted and covered with plexiglass. It is a first edition printed by Mourlot in Paris titled in French, “Voiliers Sur La Seine.”
